What are EER and COP?

Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) for cooling, and Co-efficient of Performance (COP) for heating, are ratios calculated using the input power usage and output capacity of an air conditioner. The higher the EER and COP's are, the more efficient the air conditioner is.
